| 007. DOC TRONIC attempts closure. [Ancient Rome] |

I do not have much time - we are surrounded by a legion of soldiers - outlook poor & poorer. We will hold them off as long as we can. Far as I am aware everyone's PDAs are functional & though they will be busy I suggest any sentiments should be given to the students directly.

For the friends and associates of Amy Andreatta - her PDA has been taken & will be out of commission for the foreseeable future I am afraid. If anyone wishes to communicate with her you may do so through this post. If the comments are more personal than casual I ask that you give enough warning that I might know not to read them myself. That is to say - I would not try to in either case but you might see how this would be complicated for all parties who are involved.
She would also like to know how "Tobi" (?) is doing.

| 004. DOC TRONIC's plans are foiled. [Ancient Rome] |
[06 May 2009|11:27am] |
I need:
- Some poisons in use in Rome / 46 BC to narrow my tests. I know little of magical poisons so if you can summarize those as well & give me a basic overview of their components we would appreciate it very much. - Do followers of "the late Lucretius" lean one way or another politically? Men of this school of thought have been visiting & while the esteem is welcome I do not know if they will hinder our cause. - Some contemporary material - very thin metal such as foil. Was gold leaf in common usage?

Attn: students stranded amongst hostile robots
I wish that I could be of more assistance in your time of distress but I am stranded in stupid ancient realms - not futuristic ones & cannot provide face-to-control-panel expertise. However if they are truly intent (as I have been assured) on eliminating making things difficult for all of you there is one tactical weakness which I am sure any system of sufficiently sophisticated artificial intelligence would note & attempt to exploit.
I recommend that you:
- Keep the PDAs turned off when they are not in use - Turn off any added GPS functionality - there may not be satellites anymore (question: do you know if there are satellites anymore?) but they might be able to fix on your output beacons and get a lock on your positions. - For those of you with remote programming activated - if the blue signal lights up or a program download request pops up, do not accept the transfer! It is imperative that you do not accept the transfer. - I am not aware if there are plugs / receptacles available but Do Not plug your PDA into anything. - Do not leave / lose your PDAs! Any decent system would be able to reverse engineer this technology as soon as it is scanned.
[...]
- Since there is a chance that are already keeping low key maintenance on your communications - be advised - modern surveillance programs are often keyed to detect and hone in on flags in human discourse ie. high concentration of typos or capslock.
Did you engage them in unprovoked combat at any point? If you did, it is possible that you can sway / manipulate the programming to no longer consider you threats. If you did nothing (as you say) to anger the robots then it is likely they are wired against you preemptively and there is little you can do to alter that save change the programming.
If I am to be of any help at all I need you to describe the robots in the most detail that you can manage. Do they glow in any color particularly? What composes the shells? When shot - do they leak fuel or make pneumatic-type hissing noises? I heard that they are capable of what you quaint simply term regeneration. Do they use parts, or do they reconstitute from within the same shell? It may give me something to do while I am stra

Research drones students! Self-appointed mission control and such! We received this - it is very important looking and the attendant / guard (?) handed it to me with a very furrowed brow.
[[Colby has carefully transcribed their message in latin: an invitation from the Senator Marcus Junius Brutus for the assembly to join a collection of senators for the afternoon's gladiatorial games, in celebration of Caesar's return. It also invites - or possibly commands, the language is difficult - the group to choose their champions to enter into the games, as tribute to Great Caesar. It is suggested that the games will be exhibition only.]]
Please advise at earliest possible opportunity - thank you.

| 002. DOC TRONIC flips a coin. [ANCIENT ROME] |
[01 May 2009|07:43pm] |
Sorry Mr. James; cannot wait to scroll back through dozens of posts as am trying to fend off small curly headed pickpockets from our group.
A date will help us to orient ourselves until Lady Victoriana Clocksbury stops tittering helplessly at cogs and earns her wages as Dean to get back her charges and colleagues. A coin will help us orient ourselves to the date. First side of coin: two men looking to the right - wearing strange hats - * / asterisks(?) on top. Says 'RVFVS IIIVIR'
Other side - female figure with lower body toga, bird on shoulder like pirate, holding scales, with 'no' symbol/strikethrough. says CORDIVS.
ANYONE - please C&P roman manners + protocol - thank you.
